Our Challenges

Last Updated: 31 Aug 2021

Academics

  • We need more books for both library and departmental use

Staffing

  • We have a huge wage bill for support staff under PTA/School Board payroll because most of our PMEC vacancies are being used by other officers who are serving from different schools in the province
  • We have a shortfall of atleast one science teacher with  a combination of Physics and Chemistry

Furniture

  • We need more furniture for the library, science laboratories, home economics specialised rooms, computer laboratory, departmental rooms and the assembly hall

Infrastructure

  • Completion of walkways and roofing
  • Completion of drainages around school buildings
  • Gravelling of roads leading to the staff residence
  • Expansion of the dining hall and outside kitchen

Science Laboratory & H.E Equipment

  • We need more equipment and untencils for our home economics specialised rooms
  • We need more science laboratory apparatus and equipment

Low school fees agianst high commodity prices

  • Commodities such as maize, sugar and cooking oil have recently, become very expensive country wide. And it has become quite challenging for us to purchase them considering that, school fees have not being increased from the time commodity prices started going up.

Transport

  • We need to procure a light truck in addition to the school bus which we currently have so that it can be easy for us to transport things like hardware, firewood, maize, including  vegetables from our PU garden and also to save money paid to the various transporters we hire from time to time.

Sports

  • We are in need of more sporting equipment, materials and accessories in all our sport disciplines such as athletics, chess, basketball, football, nettball, volleyball, tennis, rugby, among others
